London Pictures Part 1 - Bruno's debut

'You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford'
Samuel Johnson

Hi all,

I know, I know, I have been very bad. And I am so sorry, but I was having such a great time catching up with my friend and exploring London. I am now back in Stockholm and waiting for my friend to come here. I will show her a bit of Stockholm in return for a great London trip.

First things first. You are probably asking yourself ....who is Bruno? See, after Nico, I had Rocco, but then my mom got herself another camera after giving Rocco to me. But she prefers Rocco, and gave me another new one. Which I have named Bruno, its all very simple. Bruno was a gem. I love him. He is just perfect he did so good on his first trip, I am so proud of my little guy. Note to self- do a post on all three at some point - Nico, Rocco and Bruno. There is a female camera also - Casey. But she belongs to my sister. Onto London!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, London is fabulous, people!!!!!!!! So much to see, hear, eat, smell. I just loved it. Even though I was there for only a short time, it was certainly an amazing trip!!!!!!!!!! I saw Buckingham palace, Downing street - which was closed off to the public, London Bridge, St James Park, Harrods - didn't go in though - That was not in the Financial Year budget believe me. I saw the changing of the guards - timed my outing very well indeed to catch that. What else, Oxford street etc I ate, steak and kidney pies (I had tooooooo), I had hummus (I can get that here too), sushi (ditto for the sushi as well) and more Fish and chips - not so much, not really into fish, but the best bit- I found a South African store so I goit me some Hunter's gold, Savannah's, Nik naks, Fizzers and Ouma rusks. Even you dont know what I am on about check this post.

All in all, my trip was a success. My friend was happy, it was a surprise birthday present visit that her sister and I planned for weeks. And it was great catching up with her.

Onto pictures.
Believe it or not........ Love it.

these are floating balls in a pool of water, they looked so cool. 10 years ago, I would have been in that.......ok 3 years ago
Statue in the round about in front of Buckingham palace - I think that's Queen Victoria - but I could be wrong.
War memorial at St James Park
Its suppose to be a soccer player with balls - I don't see it.
Buckingham Palace at the back and statue in the front.
O2 arena - where most concerts are held.
I didn't want to stand any closer to the big horse.
This is my favourite one - honestly cant tell you more about it. But I know its on the way to Downing street behind the houses of Parliament.
I had to get a shot of one.

So more pictures, more London posts including hair products I bought, hair stories, St James Park - that deserves a post by its self. My London shopping haul and my first pair of high heels. Yes, I bought me some heels in London!!!!!!!!! Ohhhhh and a blog post about a farm in London........ohhhhh so much to blog about ;-)

Peace, Love and Travel

  2. Hiya, yes it was my first time in London. I loved it!!!!!!!!! (going back later in the year though) Omg, I couldn't get enough of natural sista's. I would look and stare at every single one. But alas I was toooo scared to go up and ask --- how you get your hair to do that?!!!!!! But wow, London town is doing right with the natural hair as well as locs. Everytime I saw a loc'd sista, I would just smile and say one day that may be me.

As for my own hair, I wore wash n go's for most days and then would alternate with head wraps. I bought some products but I first need to finish what I have here. But the hair did very well under the London weather conditions - warm, sunny, cloudy and very humid.

  4. In comparison to being in Stockholm I can imagine how your head must be have been turning around all the time! Sista's with hairdos to get the imagination and DIY-juice going!

On your return visit, hope you will get to see much more of London and England, by extension. I studied there and I had a grand time. I love London, Love it! I lived in Stoke, full countryside.

  5. Ohhhhhh I am so planning on seeing more my next time round. I am thinking I may do Edinburgh and Dublin as well. But overall I love First times for everything - such a joy, eyes wide open, mouth wide whilst making an 0 shape, feet painful but so worth it, the rush of everything, exhaustion after a long day but up and early the next morning....... the little things about traveling.
