Update - Aloe Vera Plants and randomness

'A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone extended effort on them'.
- Liberty Hyde Bailey

Hiya Everyone

So just to re-cap, during last summer, I bought two Aloe Vera plants - remember I named them Georgina and Felicia? Well I have been steadily (or not so steadily according to my mom) nurturing them and watering them. And man have my girls GROWN!!!!!! They are juicy and plump. Beautiful. They are given water once a week. And during summer time they were outside but in winter they are kept indoors. And near to light. Also where they can get some fresh air. Nothing more and nothing less.

They are seriously looking Fabulous. I am gonna use a leaf soon and mix a batch of my SheAloe butter.

Ohhhhhhh, almost at the moment, very soon....... I am taking a trip again.

A long one.

Out of Europe.

Which is why, I am trying to sort Blogger out before I leave.

Anyways...... all those products I bought last year? Well, I really really REALLY need to use them up before I leave. So, tomorrow I am gonna take these braids out and use up all my conditioner and my coconut cream and oils. Then I want to deep condition and try the two strand twist again. Also I really want to do a length check just to know where I am in the beginning of 2012. Last year December, before I braided my hair, I did a length check and I was between Arm pit length and Bra strap length. So am hoping these past 7 weeks of protective styling have made a difference.

That's all for now.

My first portrait

'A true portrait should, today and a hundred years from today, the testimony of how this person looked and what kind of human being he was'. - Philippe Halsman

Hi and Good Morning

Ok, lets get into it. So I think on my bucket list, I wrote that I wanted to get my portrait painted. Well that happened!!!!! When I was in Berlin, my friends houseguests (apart from me) was a couple from England- he an artist and his wife a chef!!!!! A chef!!!!!! I love Chefs. but I digress. Anyways, he asked or I asked but somehow I ended sitting for him whilst he got to work on my portrait. The only thing, I asked of him was not to draw me with glasses.

This is me.

Uncanny right? Dont it look just like me?!!!!!
Just showing off the braids.

About the artist responsible for my first piece of gorgeous artwork. His name is Alan Morgan and apart from being the coolest, nicest, friendliest person I have ever met he is most importantly also a fellow Gemini and appreciates a good slice of cake like yours truly. And he is so sweet.

So Alan was born in London but currently lives in Yorkshire, U.K. He is a freelance artist, graphic designer. At the moment he is studying in Doncaster just to refresh and add to his skill-base. Work that he is currently doing is going towards his third solo exhibition, which will be a collection of painting, collages and sculptures.

I will say, sitting still for me can be difficult. I am the type of person that is constantly moving about, but Alan made that easy for me, but chatting with me and making me comfortable - I am a bit shy you know. I like to be behind the scene not in front - hence why I am not always in the photos!!!!! Also, we took a few breaks inbetween. What he first did was to make a few sketches in his pad before he was satisfied and then he began to paint. All in all it was a great experience. And I am glad I did it. I can now take that off my Bucket List.

Thank you so Much Alan!!!!!!!!!! Muah (he is hopefully reading this).

Blog Break

Morning all.

Ok, so you all know that Blogger and I have issues. Well apart from those two blog posts that I did on my Berlin trip. I cant upload anymore pictures. I am still getting that error message. So its very stressy and slightly getting on my nerves. So, I am taking a break and seeing what other options there are to Blogger. Also, I am in the process of sorting out some personal things going on in my own life.

Have a wonderful Friday 13 everyone.

Berlin, my way. Part 2

'Travel is more than just seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living'. - Miriam Beard

And hello again

More pictures!!!!!!!!

Plan of the underground

This is suppose to be a flower. Its gorgeous, but seriously amazing when the wind blows. It gently 'flaps'.
A not so clear but still visible shot of the top of the Brandenburg gate

Man on a horse. Berlin
Till the next pictures.

Berlin, my way. Part 1

'One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things'. - Henry Miller

Hi all

So here are just a few interesting pictures I took whilst in Berlin.

The German flag

I love this sticker!!!!!!!

In English, this reads - Black stays Beautiful.

This was at a flea market and all these cars were for sale, the were parked all the way round this street. Nice cars too. Even nicer prices.

Did I ever tell you, that my second name means Hope? ...... But I love this shot, it was on a side of a wall, right at the bottom almost hidden.

Ok, that's not all still ,more pictures. Just need sorting through.

Happy 2012!!!!!!!

'Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right'. - Oprah Winfrey

Hi everyone and

I know, it's day 5 now, but still. So am back in Stockholm after a wonderful time in Berlin. Pictures will be up soon.

Just a few things I want to say.

Thank you for following my blog, reading what I write and commenting, as well as those that lurk (I do that also). I truly loves this space even though I know I don't blog as often as I would like ( will try and change my naughty ways this year). I hope that 2012 will be a fantastic year for each and everyone one of us.

So, within a few weeks, you will see some changes on the layout of this blog as well as changes to its content. I really want to move away from just my hair - still Love being natural, but its not all I am about. Wanna show off another side off me. So keep a look out for those changes.

Peace, Blessings and Happy New Year
